Are you fed up with the way you look, but have been putting off that jog you were going on? Are you not achieving the results you had hoped for when you started at the gym? If you are you stuck in a rut, these three tips on how to start progressing your fitness may help. The key to successful training is good habits. If you get into good habits early in your training you will see measurable improvements as you progress. Getting into bad habits however, can lead to no improvement in fitness and serious injuries. The first good habit is to plan your time well. There are many different aspects to successful time planning and if you get a grasp on this topic early, you will improve your results considerably. In order for you to manage you time effectively, you must have set out clear goals as to what you want to achieve and how long you have to achieve it. Time management involves everything, from the amount of time you have to prepare, how long you spend training, what you do and how you do it when you train, what you eat before and after training and much more, far too much to try and list it all here. Basically, if you set clear, achievable goals, plan you time well and follow your schedule you will be well on your way to seeing great results. If you want to skip creating you own schedule, most fitness clubs and gyms provide personal fitness plans suited to what you want to achieve. The second good habit is having a complete warm up and down routine. Cold muscles don’t stretch, so stretches should become a regular routine for everyone before and after a workout. Serious injuries can be prevented from performing a series of different stretches and the benefits include a greater range of movement and increased stamina to improve performance. The third good habit is to keep track of your training. You can do this in a notebook or on your computer or however you please. The main thing is that you have a way of comparing how you are doing this week, to how you were doing last week or last month or whenever. This way you can see how you are progressing and you can alter certain areas of your training program if needs be. By seeing how you are improving each week gives extra motivation to continue with the training schedule. Hopefully these tips will give you some ideas of how you can improve. Best of luck with your training.
